Hamilton Junior High Track and Golf Recap – Monday

May 12th 2025 It was a busy and exciting Monday for Hamilton Junior High Athletics, as the track and golf teams closed in on the end of their seasons with strong performances across the board. Track & Field Recap – Final Meet at Eastside The junior high boys and girls track teams wrapped up their season just down the road at Eastside in their final meet of the year. Girls Track Recap: The Lady Marines put together an impressive showing, placing 3rd overall with 53 team points. Eastside took the top spot with 78 points, followed by Prairie Heights with 65 and Lakewood with 3. Top finishers for Hamilton included: Leah Hicks took 2nd in the 100 hurdles (18.43) and 1st in long jump (12-05.5), and also claimed 1st in the 800 (2:44.78). Piper DePriest had a busy night, placing 4th in the 100 hurdles (19.12), 2nd in the 200 (30.77), and 2nd in the 200 hurdles (34.62). Lydia Szeman placed 3rd in the 100 (14.58) and 3rd in the 200 hurdles (35.66). Gianna Ceci grabbed 3rd in the 400 (1:14.06) and 2nd in discus (58-05). Baylee Bartrom was just behind Ceci in the 400, placing 4th (1:14.07). Heidi Richter cleared 4-06 to take 2nd in high jump. Sloan Hurraw had a strong night in the field, earning 2nd in shot put (23-08.75) and 5th in discus (50-10). Boys Track Recap: The boys team closed out their season in strong fashion as well, finishing 2nd overall with 50 points, behind Eastside's 105.5 Standout performances included: Ace Hill continued to shine, earning 1st in the 110 hurdles (17.88), 1st in the 400 (58.75), and 1st in the 200 hurdles (29.50). Abbott Lingo was right behind in the 200 hurdles, taking 2nd (29.90), and added a 1st place finish in high jump (5-06) and 2nd in long jump (14-11). Marcus Sommers ran a solid 2nd place in the 1600 (5:32.05). Lucas Taylor finished 2nd in the 800 (2:20.12). Kevin Lanning rounded out scoring with a 4th place in shot put (28-11). The Hamilton administration and coaching staff would like to congratulate all of our junior high track athletes on a fantastic season filled with effort, growth, and sportsmanship! Junior High Golf Recap – Match at Cobblestone The Junior High Golf team hit the course at Cobblestone for 9 holes on Monday afternoon. The team shot a combined 244, with individual scores as follows: Eli Ferrell led the team with a 47 Mason Moughler followed with a 62 Lilli Dager posted a 67 Eli Lockwood rounded out the lineup with a 68 The team will wrap up its season Wednesday with one final match at Garrett Country Club.
